Vernal Regional Airport (VEL)
The Vernal Regional Airport is the premier gateway to Northeastern Utah. Located just minutes from downtown Vernal, it offers the fastest access to Dinosaur National Monument and our local state parks.

Current Service: Vernal is currently serviced by United Express (operated by SkyWest), providing daily flights to and from Denver International Airport (DEN). This connection allows travelers to reach Vernal from almost anywhere in the world with just one stop.

General Aviation: The airport also serves general aviation and corporate aircraft with full-service FBO facilities, including fuel and tie-downs.
Alternative Regional Hubs
If you are planning a scenic road trip into Dinosaurland, there are two major regional airports within driving distance:

Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC): Located approximately 3 hours west of Vernal, SLC is a major Delta Air Lines hub and is served by all major domestic carriers. From Salt Lake, the drive to Vernal takes you through the beautiful Strawberry Valley and over the scenic Uinta mountains.

Grand Junction Regional Airport (GJT): Located roughly 2.5 hours south of Vernal, this is the largest airport in Western Colorado. It is a great option if you plan to combine your Vernal trip with a visit to Colorado’s wine country or Arches National Park.
